Launceston General Hospital CT Scanner Room
A small but mighty project, the new Launceston General Hospital CT Scanner facility, completed in 2024, allowed for continuity of services while the existing CT scanner underwent end of life replacement.
While spatially simple, the facility has complex shielding requirements that needed to be integrated into the floor, walls and ceiling. Additionally, the project was seen as an opportunity improve the patient experience through the incorporation of static and projected imagery, bringing the calming effect of nature to a potentially uncomfortable situation.
The new CT Scanner has been anecdotally reported as a staff favourite, with the graphic treatment appreciated by all users.
