The community centre at the newly constructed Reed Estate Retirement Village in Prospect, Launceston brings together a range of shared spaces designed to support wellbeing, connection and everyday activity for residents.

The fit‑out is organised into a series of zones that accommodate diverse uses, including a cinema, gym, games room, reading spaces, craft room, lounge, kitchen and a multi‑purpose room for gatherings and events. This approach allows the centre to support both active social engagement and quieter moments throughout the day, responding to different needs and routines.

ARTAS was responsible for the interior design and spatial definition of the centre, with a focus on creating environments that feel welcoming, familiar and easy to use. A consistent palette of colours and materials is used throughout, with soft tones of blue, brown and grey set against a light and airy backdrop. Materials and furnishings have been selected for durability and ease of maintenance, while retaining a residential quality, ensuring the spaces feel comfortable, practical and home‑like for everyday use.
