Bank of Us Head Office Relocation

Located within the St Lukes Building, Tasmania’s largest cross‑laminated timber structure designed by Terroir, the new Bank of Us Head Office

supports flexible ways of working while responding to both the character of the base building and the values of the Bank.

The workplace has been designed around the organisation’s ‘desk for a day’ model, where staff across all roles book available workstations daily. A range of work settings provides choice throughout the day, accommodating focused individual work, small group collaboration and more informal interaction. Open‑plan areas are balanced with private pods, focus rooms, elevated benches and a designated quiet zone, allowing the space to adapt to different tasks and working styles.

Rather than compete with the strong architectural presence of the timber structure, ARTAS approached the interior as a layered environment—one that carefully interprets the Bank’s brand identity within the rhythm and logic of the base building. Natural finishes and muted tones are complemented by confident colour and integrated greenery, creating clear spatial identity while maintaining cohesion across the floorplate. Shared amenities, including a central kitchen hub, reading room and wellness room, anchor the workplace and support wellbeing within a contemporary, flexible environment.
