Devonport High School Redevelopment
The redevelopment of Devonport High School delivers a highly connected vertical campus that brings learning, administration and shared spaces together within a compact urban setting. Organised across multiple levels, the project improves movement and visibility while establishing a clearer identity and arrival experience for the school.
At the centre of the campus, a landscaped courtyard and internal linkways create a shared social and visual focus, supporting circulation and collaboration throughout the day. Learning environments are designed to be flexible and light‑filled, complemented by breakout and collaborative spaces that encourage different modes of learning. Colour is used strategically throughout the building to define zones, support wayfinding and introduce energy into the learning environment, reinforcing identity without overwhelming the space.
By combining clear spatial organisation with confident use of colour and shared space, the project creates an engaging and adaptable school environment that supports contemporary education and strengthens the school’s presence within the city.
