One North Terrace

One North Terrace, Burnie provides 30 hotel rooms in a range of configurations including; double rooms, king and queen size apartments and accessible suites.

Located on a rocky outcrop opposite the working Port of Burnie, One North Terrace takes its design cues from the earth and the ocean. With three habitable floors above an open carpark, the hotel utilises painted pre-cast concrete panels to create a dynamic façade within budget constraints. The building makes the most of a tight site, providing each room with a north-facing outlook across the ocean and shielding from port noise through limited openings on the eastern façade.

Internally, the rooms incorporate a restrained palette of light timber joinery and grey textiles with accents in ocean blue and burnt orange. Aiming for the ‘higher end’ market, the internal finishes are soft and welcoming yet robust with a focus on the local flavour including locally produced Waverley Mills throws and historical imagery of Burnie in every room.
