NSW Prisoner Handling Upgrades
ARTAS were engaged to design and document the Prisoner Handling Upgrade project for 17 stations for tender purposes. The consultant team also engaged to provide advice during construction, attend meetings, undertake inspections and to co-ordinate and document requested changes by the LAC for each station.
The stations were located in CBD and regional locations and required new charge areas which were either incorporated within an existing building or provided as a new extension to the existing building. Many other works were incorporated to ensure that the operational requirements of each police station were satisfied.
Construction works were undertaken on a rolling program over the five years with approximately 4 stations being refurbished concurrently. The programming of the project was undertaken by ARTAS to deliver individual station refurbishments to meet ministerial programs, operational ‘go live’ dates and financial year expenditure requirements.
