Port Sorell Community, Recreation & Performing Arts Centre

The 2.3mil Community, Recreation & Performing Arts Centre at the current Camp Banksia Site Port Sorell was officially opened in October 2014.

The development included a new full size national standard netball & basketball court, constructed beside the existing Camp Banksia hall Which was converted into a Performing Arts Facility.

The layout for the new hall includes competition basketball & netball facilities, 4 badminton courts &  2 volley ball courts complete with competition grade floating timber flooring. Also included are two change rooms facilities, fixed tiered seating and informal seating that will surround the playing courts with incorporated storage space for community groups. Two community meeting rooms serviced by a kitchen & kiosk with large public foyer and office that will also act as a ticket box for community events & performances. The new community centre will become a great asset for the Port Sorell community.

The contemporary colour scheme includes Burnt orange, blue, white , light grey & natural timber to compliment the coastal surrounds.
